Joanna played Sarah Brown the Salvation Army Sargeant, who is eventually won over by the smooth talking Sky Masterson. She was nominated for a 'Best Actress in a Musical' Olivier in 1997.

Joanna Riding as Sarah is ideal. She is not glamourous but she pretty and far more feisty than previous Sarah incarnations. This works superbly in the cuban scene as she gets hilariously drunk and whirls herself in to the fight like a dervish' - Masquerade
