Playing for Time by Arthur Miller

The other actor-musicians in this large-cast production are all just as good, with Joanna Riding superb as Fenelon, the woman who bears witness.

Joanna Riding is superb as Parisian cabaret singer Fania, her elegant sophistication stripped and shorn along with her fashionable clothes and hair, and her faith in humanity shredded by the grim reality of survival at any cost. It is a stunning performance in a cast that never falters.

there are outstanding individual performances, such as those of Joanna Riding and Rosalie Craig (Fania and Marianne) who from the depths of Auschwitz sing the glorious duets from Puccini's Madam Butterfly.
